Another GRAMMY nomination! I’m happy to announce that Dust-to-Digital's Pictures Of Sound: One Thousand Years Of Educed Audio: 980–1980 has been nominated for Best Historical Album! Congratulations to Patrick Feaster and Lance Ledbetter for putting together such a groundbreaking release. I’m honored to share the nomination with these two. 2013 Was a Great Year for Good Music
It’s been a busy year here at Osiris Studio! Lots of great records were mastered and are now available for you to listen to and enjoy. More music from Analog Africa including, Orchestre Poly-Rythmo Vol 3: The Skeletal Essences of Afro Funk 1969-1980, Afrobeat Airways 2: Return Flight to Ghana 1974-1983 (Osiris Studio is shown on the cover art!), Angola Soundtrack 2 - Hypnosis, Distorsions & Other Sonic Innovations 1969-1978 and a re-master of the incredible Rebita, the first LP ever issued in Angola. Dust-to-Digital put together some amazing compilations this year including, Kassidat: Raw 45s From Morocco, Sorrow Come Pass Me Around: A Survey of Rural Black Religious Music, Greek Rhapsody: Instrumental Music From Greece 1905-1956, and they capped the year off with the brilliant Longing for the Past: The 78 RPM Era In Southeast Asia.

Osiris Studio is proud to announce that mastering engineer Michael Graves has been nominated for a second GRAMMY! The Dust-to-Digital project, Opika Pende: Africa at 78 RPM has been nominated for Best Historical Album for the 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards. The award ceremony will be held at 1:00 PM, February 10, 2013 in Los Angeles, CA. The nominees include Michael Graves (mastering engineer), Steven Lance Ledbetter and Jonathan Ward (album producers). Orchestre Super Borgou de Parakou: The Bariba Sound Released
Another outstanding compilation from Analog Africa. Label owner and compilation producer Samy Ben Redjeb has collected some amazing tracks from the Benin based Orchestre Super Borgou de Parakou. The Bariba Sound presents Bariba and Dendi linguistic folklore, alongside Islamic-influenced melodies, fused with soul, Pachanga, breakbeats, rumba and afrobeat. Qat, Coffee & Qambus: Raw 45s from Yemen Released
Compiled by Chris Menist for Parlortone/Dust-to-Digital, this LP features vintage oud and vocal music inspired by the qat-chewing, coffee-sipping, qambus-playing culture of Yemen. The album is a collection of rare, Yemeni vinyl singles, showcasing the little-documented, evolving local music styles in the 1960s and ‘70s. Opika Pende: Africa at 78RPM Released
Compiled by Jonathan Ward, released by Dust-to-Digital; Opika Pende: Africa at 78rpm is a 4-CD collection featuring 100 tracks taken from rare 78rpm recordings of African music (1909 to mid-1960s), none of which have ever been issued on CD until now. Pan-African in scope and wildly diverse, Opika Pende is a testament to the deep riches found in early recorded music across the continent. Bambara Mystic Soul - The Raw Sound of Burkina Faso 1974-1979 Released
For its commemorative 10th release, Analog Africa explores Burkina Faso’s golden age of recording during the mid to late 1970’s. The raw sound of Burkina Faso combined Afro-Funk, traditional Islamic rhythms and subtle Afro-Latin sounds introduced by visiting Cuban ensembles. Mandingue melodies and guitar techniques from Mali and Guinea however were by far the most defining traits of a potent African mix that distinguished the Voltaic style between 1974 and 1979. Dan Wall, David Earle Johnson and John Abercrombie Receive Digital Re-issue
From its early catalog Landslide Records re-issues 2 digital only releases; Dan Wall’s recording debut, Song For The Night and Route Two, a jazz trio album led by the late percussionist David Earle Johnson featuring guitarist John Abercrombie and Dan Wall on organ.
